Here at The Hope Center KC, we value the contributions of countless Black leaders who have significantly impacted our history and celebrate the opportunity to honor their lives and legacies. Last week we got to honor the legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr with our S.A.Y. Yes! students. Students watched fact filled videos that talked about Dr. King’s life and got an opportunity to share their learning with their peers and staff. They also sang songs about Dr. King and enjoyed watching “Our Friend Martin” during snack time.
Students colored different portraits of Dr. King throughout the week and had their artwork displayed for everyone to see. We had a wonderful time celebrating Dr. King’s legacy and we are grateful to be a part of his legacy. Dr. King’s dream lives on through S.A.Y. Yes! and all our programming here at The Hope Center KC!
