Inspiring Futures: The Hope Center’s Trip to Brothers in Technology Event

One April Friday, while Kansas City Public Schools had an in-service day, The Hope Center took five of our young men to the Brothers in Technology event at UMKC, organized by Urban TEC. This unique conference is dedicated to introducing urban boys to careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).

Our boys engaged in hands-on workshops, exploring three areas of interest and soaking in valuable information about potential STEAM careers. They were inspired by influential speakers like Drew Eanes from JE Dunn, who shared their personal stories and spoke into the possibilities available in STEAM fields.

Special thanks to John James and Timothy Lumpkin for their support and guidance during the event. Their presence ensured our boys had a meaningful experience.

Events like Brothers in Technology play a crucial role in expanding horizons and unlocking potential. We’re grateful for the opportunity to participate in such impactful initiatives and look forward to continuing to inspire futures in our community.
